FAQWho is Alabama MedScreen, Inc.?
Alabama MedScreen is a Birmingham based firm dedicated to medical record retrieval, with the primary focus on Attending Physician Statements for the insurance industry and litigation support for legal firms.

Does Alabama MedScreen, Inc. offer nationwide record retrieval?
Yes.  Over 14 years in the record retrieval industry has allowed us to develop a system that efficiently and effectively accesses medical information across the United States, Mexico, Phillipines, South Korea, and Canada from our headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

How do I order medical records from Alabama MedScreen?
The best way to order records is to submit your request on-line through our secure, HIPAA compliant web site. Simply complete a few questions regarding the patient, provider and ordering party.  Alabama MedScreen will do the rest.  Patient authorizations can be attached to the on-line order.  You may also order records by fax or phone call.  For those outside Metro birmingham we have toll free numbers for both.

Does the same processor handle a case from start to finish?
Yes.  Each order will be handled by a trained team member assigned to your account, and every order will be handled by that team member through completion of the order.  You will have a name, email address and toll free phone and fax number to use in order to access your team member but any of our team members are eager and willing to help in any and every way possible.

Q. How long are status notes held before they are purged?
A. Status notes are never purged and are permanently archived on our system. Medical records are held in the system for a minimum of six months.

Q. Can the scope of records being requested be standardized so that redundant information does not have to be entered each time?
A. Yes. The scope of records can be standardized in effort to reduce the amount of time it takes to enter an order, and eliminate the chance the requestor may enter incorrect information.

How does Alabama MedScreen know who to contact if additional information is required on any case?
Alabama MedScreens' on-line order form has three required fields of information: user ID, password and email address. ID and password identify which firm is ordering.  Email address will tell us who to contact with any questions.  This is all the information we need in order to handle your request.
